Air Force planning to lease land at bases for commercial AI data centers

The Air Force is offering up land at five bases across the country for developers to build commercial data centers to support AI technology and programs, according to a service notice posted Oct. 15.

While the Air Force may purchase services from the data centers, Inside Defense reported, the land leases would be aimed at developments for commercial rather than military uses, the request for lease proposals states.
